Glass House Montana Reserve
Glass House Montana
Experience

Paradise Valley, in every season.

The house sits in the middle of Paradise Valley, so a day can go almost any direction. Chico is a mile away, Livingston is thirty minutes north, and Yellowstone's north entrance is forty minutes south. Pick one thing, or fit in three.

Summer
Hike

Pine Creek Falls is the easy one: about 2.5 miles out and back, on fairly level ground.

Fish

Wade the Yellowstone from a public access site, or hire a guide for the day. Trout fishing runs year-round.

Float

Scenic or whitewater. Local outfitters run the Yellowstone through the valley.

Soak

Chico Hot Springs is a mile away, with two outdoor pools. Yellowstone Hot Springs is also in the valley.

Eat

Breakfast at the bakery, burgers at the Old Saloon, barbecue with a view of Emigrant Peak, dinner at Sage Lodge. The full list is below.

Listen

Live music runs through the summer at Pine Creek Lodge, Chico, the Old Saloon and the Emigrant Outpost, among other places.

Ride

Book a horseback ride at Chico, then head back for a soak.

Stay in

Twenty acres, a fire pit, and a patio with Emigrant Peak behind it. Deer and elk pass through.

Go further

Spend a day in Yellowstone, or in Livingston for galleries, restaurants and music. Bozeman is about an hour.

Nearby

Worth leaving the house for.

01

The resort a mile up the road, and the closest thing to a town center out here. Soak in the geothermal pools, open year-round, then eat in the Historic Dining Room, or keep it casual at the Poolside Grille. The Chico Saloon pours drinks and serves Montana classics, the gift shop is good for a souvenir, and in season you can book a horseback ride into the country around the resort.
